User reviews 4 Review. Top review. This show has value. Okay, first I have some confessions to make. I have never set foot in a salon. Most of the people who cut my hair have stuffed dead animals on the wall and old magazines in the lobby. In my opinion most reality shows are for lobotomized idiots. So having said this why, has this show grown on me? I really get to see working models of group dynamics.
I also like the way that she focuses on leadership as well. I think that a a person could learn more about these two subjects watching this show than many seminars, classes or books. Sure she comes in boots some ass and is very blunt.
Keep in mind that these organizations are in deep trouble and need that approach. She is very firm and to the point. She might be direct but, I have looked closely she is not a bitch. Watch and listen carefully, her criticisms although intense are not personal. Her criticisms are about behavior and not directed at peoples character. It is not some power trip for her it is for a bigger purpose.
After she get the staffs attention she eases up and builds the team and the owners up. Tabatha Coffey was born on the 17th of May , in Brisbane, Queensland. A native Australian, Tabatha was heavily influenced by her mother growing up. By the time Tabatha grew up, both her mother and her brother were heavily involved in the industry.
She got into styling from 14 years of age and started working at the Surfers Paradise, Queensland. Her family also owned and operated a club in Adelaide. As young Tabatha began exploring the industry, it soon became evident that she needed a mentor.
After a year of working in Australia, Tabatha opted for an apprenticeship before moving to London. The apprenticeship lasted for three years and Tabatha moved to London. During her time at the salo, Tabatha began collaborating with several other stylists who worked in Hollywood.
News of a new stylist in town slowly spread around in Hollywood and Tabatha was bombarded with loads of work. Her transformative way of styling was said to be unique as she often created new styles for each client. She later expanded the business by adding a new company by the name of Joico International. She was approached by several stylists for classes and collaborating work. Even though she was well established in the industry, Tabatha decided to join a TV series entitled, Shear Genius.
This netted her USD 10, overall.
